Intakes in Canada

There are majorly three intakes in Canada January, May and September.

September out of all is the major intake in Canada where most of the Universities and colleges accept applications for.

For top ranking Universities for both undergraduate and masters applications start an Year before for admissions in mid level colleges and Universities applications starts accepting application from 8-10 months before the intake starts varying from colleges and Universities seat availability so it is always advised to plan an year ahead when you plan to start your applications 

Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualifications:

For Undergraduates: Minimum requirement starts from 50% for colleges and 60% for a University.

However, the requirement depends on Subject and College the student wishes to  apply for.

For instance 50% will be required for a culinary course but for nursing or Medical course student might need Maths and Biology both with at least 65% in all the core subjects.

 

For Postgraduate and Degree Courses: 

*To apply for Post graduate certificate courses in colleges need at least 50% in Graduation (Please note this is the minimum mark most on average requires 55%-60% depending upon the course and college requirement for instance Data analysis and infrastructure course might need at least 60%).

 

* To apply for a Masters degree Eighty percent of Universities need 16 years of Education (12+4) with at least 60% of Marks from a UGC recognised University.

 

English Proficiency Test:

Test Accepted :

  1. International English Language testing system (IELTS)
  2. Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL)
  3. Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP General)
  4. Pearson Test of English – Academic (PTE Academic)
  5. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) 

Requirements for Undergraduate: IELTS 6 one section 5.5 is minimum requirement for application in a college  for university it starts from overall IELTS 6.0 and section less than 6.0

Requirements for Postgraduate:IELTS 6.5 and no section less than 6.0 to apply for colleges and Postgraduate certificate and for Universities masters degree requirement can be on higher side depending upon course.

Other Tests Required: Student might have to appear for SAT, GRE or GMAT depending upon the type of courses they wish to apply for
